Why Quartz Slab Selection Matters in Person
Engineered quartz (Cambria, Caesarstone, Silestone) is more consistent than natural stone — the same product code looks essentially identical across multiple slabs. So why visit in person? Two reasons. First, the differences between product lines are dramatic. A Cambria slab feels different from a Silestone slab even when both are advertised as "white with veining." Pattern scale, vein definition, color temperature, and finish quality all vary across manufacturers. Second, the way quartz reads under natural light vs interior light is a real factor — quartz photographs differently than it appears in person, particularly for veined patterns. Our Boynton Beach yard stocks 80-100 quartz slabs across all three major manufacturers (Cambria, Caesarstone, Silestone) so Palm Beach County clients can compare side-by-side before committing.
What Each Brand Does Well
Cambria is the only major quartz brand made in the USA. Strong on dramatic veining, marble-look patterns (Brittanicca, Skara Brae, Britannia), and consistent quality control. Most-installed Cambria products at our showroom: Brittanicca, Britannia Gold, Ella, Skara Brae, Torquay, Whitney. Caesarstone is Israeli-engineered, the original quartz brand. Strong on contemporary patterns, dark colors, and concrete-look finishes. Most-installed Caesarstone products: Calacatta Nuvo, Statuario Maximus, Empira White, Frosty Carrina, Cloudburst Concrete, London Grey. Silestone is Spanish-engineered (by Cosentino, also makers of Dekton). Strong on whites, integrated technology (HybriQ low-resin formulation, N-Boost stain protection), and color depth. Most-installed Silestone products: Et Calacatta Gold, Et Statuario, Eternal Marquina, Lyra, Lagoon. For Palm Beach County kitchens, all three brands are excellent. The choice usually comes down to specific pattern preference rather than brand loyalty.

Quartz Slab Standing Inventory
Our standing quartz inventory rotates weekly but always includes: 30-40 Cambria slabs covering top sellers across white, gray, and warm color families. 25-35 Caesarstone slabs emphasizing contemporary marble-look patterns and dark contemporary options. 25-35 Silestone slabs across white classics, dark grays, and the Eternal series. We special-order slabs not in stock if you've fallen in love with a specific product code — typical lead time 2-3 weeks for manufacturer direct ship. For Palm Beach County clients, this means you can pick from stock (immediate availability, install in 14-21 days) or special-order (no additional cost, extends timeline to 4-5 weeks total). The trade-off matters mostly for clients on tight renovation schedules.
When Quartz Beats Natural Stone (And When It Doesn't)
Quartz wins on: zero maintenance (no sealing required, no special care products), consistency (no slab-to-slab variation, predictable from sample to install), stain resistance (engineered to resist common kitchen stains better than most natural stones), and warranty coverage (10-15 year manufacturer warranties standard). Quartz loses on: heat resistance (resin breaks down above 300°F — never put hot pans directly on quartz), UV stability (yellows over 5-10 years in direct Florida sun), and outdoor use (cannot withstand combined heat, UV, and humidity). For Palm Beach County kitchens, quartz is excellent for interior use away from direct south-facing windows. For lanai kitchens, pool houses, outdoor entertainment areas, or any installation with sun exposure, we recommend granite, quartzite, or porcelain instead.
