About Porcelain
Porcelain countertops are manufactured by firing refined clay at temperatures exceeding 2,650°F, creating an ultra-dense, non-porous surface. This extreme heat process produces exceptional hardness (7-8 Mohs), complete UV stability, and resistance to freeze-thaw cycles. Porcelain surfaces resist staining, scratching (except from ceramic knives), and thermal shock. Available in large-format slabs that minimize seams, porcelain offers the appearance of natural stone with maintenance-free performance.
Care: No sealing ever required. Clean with any household cleaner—porcelain is chemically inert. Hot pans can be placed directly on the surface without damage. The only caution: ceramic knives can scratch porcelain surfaces. Otherwise, virtually indestructible.
