About Granite
Granite is an igneous rock formed from slowly cooled magma, composed primarily of quartz, feldspar, and mica. This crystalline structure creates exceptional hardness (6-7 Mohs) and heat resistance—granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200°F without damage. Each slab exhibits unique mineral patterns and coloring based on its geological origin. Properly sealed granite resists staining and can last 30+ years with minimal maintenance.
Care: Seal upon installation and reseal every 12-24 months. Clean with pH-neutral stone cleaner or mild dish soap. Granite's heat resistance is exceptional, but the sealant is less heat-tolerant—use trivets to protect the sealed finish. Avoid acidic cleaners.
