About Quartz
Engineered quartz is composed of approximately 93% natural quartz crystals bound with 7% polymer resins and pigments. This manufacturing process creates an extremely hard (7 on Mohs scale), non-porous surface that never requires sealing. The resin component provides consistent coloring and eliminates natural stone variations. However, the polymer binders are sensitive to UV exposure and excessive heat—making engineered quartz unsuitable for outdoor use and requiring trivets for hot cookware.
Care: No sealing ever required. Clean with warm water and mild soap or a gentle household cleaner. Avoid abrasive scrubbers. Always use trivets for hot pans—direct heat above 300°F can damage the resin surface. Not recommended for outdoor installations due to UV sensitivity.
