About Cristallo
Cristallo is an exceptional variety of quartzite distinguished by its semi-translucent crystalline structure. Quarried exclusively in Brazil, this metamorphic stone allows light to pass through its surface—enabling dramatic backlit installations. Despite its ethereal appearance, Cristallo is among the hardest quartzites available (7 Mohs), with superior scratch, heat, and stain resistance. Its 0.08% absorption rate and high abrasion resistance make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Care: Seal upon installation and reapply every 12 months. Clean with warm water and pH-neutral stone cleaner. Cristallo's low porosity makes it more stain-resistant than marble, but prompt cleanup of spills is still recommended. For backlit installations, work with experienced fabricators to ensure proper lighting integration.
